Fang Sang

audio, video, event and print, 2008

FANG SANG is a series of works which form a portrait of Fang, a resident of Archway, London. Created with the support of AIR (Archway Investigations and Responses) at Byam Shaw School of Art, Fang Sang offers a glimpse into the creative outputs of Fang, a self-styled, self-proclaimed ‘amiable ragbag’ who leads a reclusive life from a small flat which he shares with 100 free-flying birds. Dabbling in music, poetry, script-writing, acting, painting, gardening, modelling and magic, he sees his life as a complete work of performance art.

Fang Sang was shown as part of Nought to Sixty at the ICA and was produced with support from AIR, Arts Council England and Central Saint Martins.
